A designer since her first time holding a pencil, Mari broke from the conventional career path to follow her dreams. Since 2018 she has been experimenting with different ways of working with visual arts, like painting, tattooing, and her current focus, animation.

 

Born in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, she has always nurtured a deep love and respect for the sea, believing that through visual languages ​​and scientific communication she can help in creating public awareness about the environmental problems that the oceans have faced.

 

In her free time she likes to photograph, read, and spend time with her pets: 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 20 chickens. Another growing passion is her interest in plants, especially medicinal herbs, making teas, incense, tinctures, and extractions of vegetable oils.

 

Mari is currently responsible for the comic strip Tiradas de Netuno.
